Sharon Elizabeth Lui Bors, 56, of Henderson, Nev., died March 11 at St. Rose Dominican Hospital, Siena Campus, in Henderson. Born in Pahala, she was a world traveler, an artist, and volunteer for Nevada Public Television. No local services. Survived by husband, Bert Bors of Henderson; brother, Robert (Ligaya) Lui of Honolulu; sisters, Stephanie (David) Macdonald of Ocean View, and Barbara (Jon) Beachner of Redmond, Wash.; nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles and aunts. Benjamin Alaelua Canonigo, 48, of Kailua-Kona died March 9 at home. Born in Honolulu, he was a security officer at the Kona Police station cellblock and former cook at Alex Drive In, Michael’s Drive In and Violet’s Grill. Visitation 10:30-11 a.m. Saturday at Kona Life Church, 75-5699 Alii Drive, above Scandinavian Shave Ice in Kailua-Kona. Memorial service at 11 a.m., luncheon and fellowship to follow. Casual attire; no flowers. Elizabeth “Betty” Paris Dunford, 85, of Kealakekua died March 15. Born in Honolulu, she was a social worker, middle school teacher, authored the book “Hawaiians of Old” used in Hawaiian schools, was a member of the Christ Church Episcopal, Daughters of Hawaii, Hawaiian Mission Children’s Society and a former director of the Cooke Foundation and Family Support Services of Hawaii. Memorial service 3 p.m. Friday at Christ Church Episcopal. Aloha attire. Survived by son, Richard Dunford of Ahualoa; daughters Elizabeth (Alan Robinson) Dunford of Makaweli, Kauai, and Dorothea (Harold) Brink of Lebanon, Ore.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Norman Tadashi Yukuno, 67, of Keopu died Feb. 14 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired mechanic for Sears Roebuck and Co., coffee farmer, member of the Keopu Citizens Club, and a U.S. Army veteran.
